An Epic weekend.
I did things afraid,
had a few lemons,
made lemonade.
Lugnuts loose,
smoking breaks,
Slipknot concert,
me being afraid.
I did it anyway.
I did it afraid.
I left my home,
my comfort zone.
I took a son.
The oldest one.
He needed a ride.
A way to go.
To see the bands
That scream and mosh.
A concert
that I myself,
would not watch.
But who am I
to kill a dream?
What would I do?
Just drop him off?
To meet his friends?
So he could scream?
I would be touring
alone with a load.
Of art supplies
In my "Van Go"
Supplies for any occasion
should inspiration arise.
And I thought to myself,
"Would this be wise?"
So I thought
I pondered
I thought some more.
Then like a flash....(not really)
we were out the front door.
Just me and Harrison
on our way
him to mosh and me to wander
for a day!
He "Knotfested" 7 hours
from 3-10,
20,000 fans,
reacting cathartically,
to the jams.
Me?
I.... cuddled goats
strolled through flowers
took nature notes,
and wandered for hours.
filming,
snacking,
sipping,
Seeing....
Mums & Zinnias,
Pumpkins & Goats,
Ponies & Chickens,
Walking Tacos.
Parents and kids,
Pints and Pups,
My day in the sun,
all kinds of fun.
No one waiting on me,
for which I am notorious.
and I must say,
it was glorious!
Alas,
I lollied,
and gagged,
too much!
Time was running out,
I needed to paint.
In 15 minutes
they'd close the gates!
To the Van Go!
No time to wait.
I grabbed supplies
and began to paint.
Squeezed the tubes
right onto the sheet
Painting frantically
out in the field.
Surrounded by flowers,
and fields of grass,
there I painted,
so, so fast!
No time to think,
just reacting cathartically,
Doing it afraid,
as others pass by,
light beginning to fade.
What you see
is what you get.
An artist's attempt
to immortalize
beauty she found
on the ground.
In a field
she chose to wield
a sea of flowers,
in a matter of minutes,
not a matter of hours.
I'm asking for $300 for this original painting. Enough to cover the cost of this fly by the seat of your pants mini adventure in being a mom of teenage boys finding her way back to being adventurous again.
