There have been many happy dances and hugs and EEPS made with me and my family, my friends and loyal clients over the years, celebrating the thrill of knowing that hard work and passion will be enjoyed out in the world, hanging proudly in someone else's sacred space!
Pictured here: Me with 2 of my besties back in 2017 after my first solo gallery showing. They celebrated then, and still do now whenever they see their friend succeed! They have stood by me, and helped me work through all the challenges that go along with running a SUPER SMALL BIZ. Without friends and family, this tough business would be a whole lot tougher to sustain.
COVID has made the happy dancing and hugging look a bit different this year, but you can guarantee, that each time an order comes in at Marie Stephens Art, I call my mom, dance with my boys in the kitchen, and do a jump for joy with my hubby, Tim, and last but not least, call up a friend to celebrate!
This is what it means to buy from a small business owner: real humans, real dancing, and sheer joy by the maker, her family, and her friends, knowing that something she created truly means something to someone else.
