The White on Black Series

About the series:

This series will be a collection, hopefully of all 400+ dog breeds some day.  I discovered and developed the style while I was stuck in jury duty, waiting to find out if I was going to be selected for the jury.  I was trapped for 2 days in the courtroom, so I decided to make the most of my time, and brought my sketch book and some of my favorite white ink pens.  

I have always been a huge fan of black and white, especially white ink on a black background.  Many of those close to me know, that even my glasses are black and white, and much of my wardrobe is as well!  I just love the sophistication of high contrast and the dashing style of these, simple, yet stylish classic looking illustrations.

I was able to complete 5 illustrations during my time in the courtroom.  And yes, I was able to pay attention to the case while I sketched.  In fact, some say that sketching or doodling during lectures and speeches, helps one to retain information and listen much better than just sitting there, doing nothing!
